- Jool
(Tammy McIntosh)
- Species:
Interion
- Homeworld:
Jool is a young alien
woman of remarkable accomplishment. Strikingly beautiful with
orange-and-yellow-hued skin offset by a mane of wild, silken
hair, she has a fiery temperament to match her visage.
She's proficient in everything from music and art to biology,
chemistry and universal cosmology. However, all of this is "book
knowledge" -- never before utilized in the real world. Near
death, her body was sold into medical research, and for the last
15 years, she's been frozen solid, her organs earmarked for donation
to anyone who had the money to purchase them. When back-footed,
she lashes out. When cornered, she fights -- even if a rational
argument eludes her. When at ease, she can charm the scales off
a snake. Despite all this, Jool is not a hard woman. She's full
of charm and sass and verve and vinegar -- confident by intelligence,
clever by brain, sexy by genetics.

- Colonel
John
"Jack" Robert Crichton
- (Kent McCord)
- Species: Human
- Home World:
Earth
- Affiliation: NASA
- Colonel Jack Crichton,
was in line to take that first step on the Moon, but he was from
the Chuck Yeager/Test Pilot crop of early astronauts, and was
passed over in favor of Armstrong, a science-educated astronaut.
He did get his chance in 1972. Jack Crichton, Commander of Apollo
17, was the last man to walk on the moon. He was co-pilot on board
STS 41-G. He retired in 1991 to work full time on the formation
of the (IASA) International Aeronautic and Space Administration.
He was appointed to the IASA board of directors in 1994. He resigned
in 1996 to help his son with the Farscape program. After the loss of his
son, John Robert Crichton, Jr. in a failed gravity boost experiment
on board Farscape 1, Jack returned to NASA in 2001. He became
payload specialist for the NEATS (Near Earth Asteroid Tracking
System). He boarded the ISS (International Space Station) in
September of 2004. He never returned...
|
 |
Commander
John Crichton
(Ben Browder)
Species: Human
Homeworld: Earth
John Robert Crichton,
Jr. was born in North Carolina, thirty-odd years ago. He's a
second generation NASA astronaut, the first ever. His earliest
memory is watching Neil Armstrong stepping onto the moon. Crichton's
father, Jack, was in line to take that first step, but he was
from the Chuck Yeager/Test Pilot crop of early astronauts, and
was passed over in favor of Armstrong, a science-educated astronaut.
Jack never forgot this, and to make certain his son didn't suffer
similar prejudice, he pushed young Crichton into the world of
science academics. Not that the boy didn't have an aptitude,
but his natural desire for sports and physical activity was summarily
suppressed by the elder Crichton's insistence on science education
over all else. After high school, Crichton went on to MIT, ultimately
achieving his full doctorate in Theoretical Sciences. When the
opportunity arose to train with IASA as an astronaut, he leaped
at it. Because of his strengths as a scientist, he was a Mission
Specialist on several Shuttle missions.

Officer Aeryn Sun
(Claudia Black)
Species: Sebacean
Homeworld: Unknown
Status -Irreversibly Contaminated
A front-line soldier in
thePeacekeeper corps, a grunt, and proud of it. She's part of
the kick-ass Pleisar Regiment, always the first unit in. The more
pincers and teeth an enemy has, the more likely Peacekeeper Command
is going to send the Pleisars. Aeryn is intensely proud of the fact
that she can hold her own among any of her fellow soldiers, male or
female. Being trapped here aboard Moya and having to count on all
these non-Peacekeepers for her survival is anathema to her instincts
and training. Being a Peacekeeper (and one of these prisoners'
former captors) obviously creates continuing friction between her
and them. But as time goes on, her interactions, in particular with
Crichton, will lead her to an awareness and compassion that she's
never known before.
