This was a difficult choice, but I have to give it to the little DRD who was doing exactly what I felt like doing myself – giving Crais a whack upside the head.

Aeryn: "Well, you do believe people can change, don’t you?"

Mind The Baby

This episode is mostly about the reunion of Moya’s family after last season’s cliffhanger. We begin on an asteroid, with John reviving D'Argo from his walk-in-space-in-his-streetclothes-induced coma and Aeryn in the middle of a deal with Crais. She has promised to assist him in controlling Talyn in exchange for his assistance in saving Crichton’s and D'Argo’s lives. Meanwhile aboard Moya, Zhaan (who’s having problems of her own), Pilot, Chiana and Rygel, are still searching for Talyn and have just about given up hope of finding the rest of their group alive. Crichton and D'Argo are less than overjoyed with Aeryn’s deal, and John flies off in the prowler to confront Crais on Talyn. He Crais-naps him and brings him back to Moya, where each reunion between the various crewmembers is priceless to watch, from Chiana’s kangaroo jump to Rygel’s intons.

When Talyn becomes frightened and confused due to Scorpius’s approaching Command Carrier, he demands a pilot. Not just any pilot, he wants Crais. Aeryn consents to accompany Crais and, following a very touching scene between Aeryn and John, they head for the small Leviathan. Talyn offers the "hand of friendship" to Crais, who accepts and therefore becomes physically bonded to Talyn, thus giving him access to all of Talyn’s functions. They boot Aeryn off the ship and she returns to Moya. Just before Talyn Starbursts away, Crais thumbs his nose at Scorpius by declaring Crichton dead (Scorpy doesn’t believe this for a minute) and resigning his Peacekeeper commission. The end of the hour finds Aeryn and John snuggled together (sigh) in Pilot’s chamber debating Crais’ motives and the actuality of his change from insane Peacekeeper Captain to not insane Leviathan Captain.
